Finally, the thesis must be written in compliance with norms for academic and scholarly expression and for publication in the public domain.

General requirements

  • M.Sc. students interested in a Ph.D. may fast track to the Ph.D. program after 12–18 months. The M.Sc. thesis requirement is then waived. Candidates with exceptional academic records may be considered to proceed directly to the Ph.D. degree from the B.Sc. degree.
  • A minimum CGPA of 3.2 out of 4.0 or a GPA of 3.4 in the last two years is required for an application to be considered.
  • The GRE General Test is no longer required.
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): minimum score of 86 on the Internet-based test with each component score not less than 20 OR IELTS (International English Language Testing System) with an overall band of 6.5 or greater.
