- The doctorate is divided into two research areas: Sociology, history and political culture and Geopolitics and history of international relations. The first area focuses on two main themes of interest: citizenship in the construction of the contemporary state, in its historical, institutional, political-philosophical profiles; and transformations in the knowledge society through innovative theories, methods and approaches.
- In the second area, the analysis of internal processes of national states, international and supranational organizations is privileged in the context of the growing development of the mechanism of interdependencies determined by the current dynamics of globalization.
