The Energy, Systems, Territory and Construction Engineering program at University of Pisa provides an organic collection of training activities aimed to define the appropriate qualified profiles to deal with the complexity of an engineering for the sustainable development in innovative fields and of great international relevance that are of interest for multidisciplinary systems for energy, land and buildings.
Among such systems are currently of great importance those named "smart city" with an homogeneous methodological approach which is originated and is nourished through the cultural and research experiences present in the Department.
Another technical - scientific topic of great relevance today is energy saving in buildings, which involves skills of energetic, electricity, management, architectonic and civil buildings nature.

- The multiplicity of scientific skills and of activities research and the multidisciplinary nature of the department, combined with the variety of laboratories and with an extensive network of international cooperations, provide a stimulating environment for the PhD students, for the study and the development of research.
