The History course at University of Pisa intends to form young scholars highly qualified in the study of history in its widest perspective – both chronological (from the Ancient Orient to our days) and geographical – able to produce original work. 

Overview

The multifaceted formation provided by the History course at University of Pisa, open to the new trends of research, should be able to create not only scholars engaged in academia but also people destined to run libraries, archives, museums, and to organise cultural events etc. 

Work opportunities

Given the international character of the Course, the students will be encouraged to spend at least six months of work in foreign universities. Co-tutorship of theses is highly appreciated.

Teaching

  • The didactic activity will be constituted by lectures and seminars given by Italian and foreign scholars and by seminars in which the students present their work, while the thesis must show that the same students are ready to start their activity in the field of research and/or highly qualified intellectual work.
