Overview
The main research goals in the Energetics program from Politecnico di Torino are the advancement of knowledge, technological innovation and improvement of performance of systems and equipment employed for energy conversion, distribution and use of energy, the development of methodologies, equipment and technologies for limiting environmental impact of energy systems and transports.

Energetics PhDs work in Italian and foreign Universities and Research Centers such as ENEA, European Commission Joint Research Center, Energy International Agency, InnoEnergy PhD School, the European research infrastructure on biomass BRISK II, as well as in leading Italian and foreign automotive Companies, such as FCA, General Motors, FPT Industrial, IVECO, Porsche and BOSCH, in Companies of the energy sector such as Framatome, Ansaldo, EDF, ENI, SNAM, ENGIE, IREN, SMAT, Westinghouse.
Finally, as future career opportunities can be mentioned also some PoliTo projects related to energetic transition, such as the Energy Center and the research infrastructure on CO2 management called CO2 Circle Lab.

- Applicants are required to submit their application for admission online on the Apply@polito platform.
- All applicants must pay a non-refundable application fee (€ 30,00) for each application submitted (one application per each PhD programme).
- After submitting the application, no changes are allowed. It will not be possible to upload any other document.
- Master’s degree (Laurea Magistrale) or Laurea specialistica or academic degree belonging to the university system pre-dating M.D. no. 509 of 3rd November 1999, as amended by M.D. no. 270 of 22nd October 2004 – with minimum final grade: 95/110.
- English language certificate – level B2

Funding
PhD scholarships can be with own research topic or with predefined research topic.
The gross annual amount of the scholarship is usually € 15,343.28, but the Politecnico di Torino has chosen to further enhance and promote the value of PhD programmes, increasing the amount of the scholarships to € 18.854,52.
All candidates compete for scholarships with own research topic, unless they explicitly waive their right to receive them.
The scholarships with predefined research topic are associated to particular research topics for which specific skills are required. Those applicants interested in one or more scholarships shall carefully verify which are the field of research and the competences required, as specified in the scholarship descriptive sheet and contact the relevant scientific referee.
