The Energetics programme from Politecnico di Torino foresees research and training activities in fundamental and advanced sectors for the conversion and the rational use of energy, such as renewable energies, the environmental impact of energetic systems, thermal economics, energy planning, analysis of security and affordability of energy systems, nuclear fission and fusion, engineering of the internal environment, alternative engines, oleodynamic and pneumatic, hybrid propulsion system.
Priority objectives for the research are the progress of knowledge and technological innovation for improving the performance in systems and in components currently used for the conversion, storage, distribution and use of energy, as well as the development of methodologies, tools and technologies for the control of the environmental impact of energy and transport systems. Special attention is paid to the energy transition, both for technological aspects (like the impact of renewable resources) and for environmental sustainability (like the global carbon management).
Priority objectives for the education are the creation of a common and multidisciplinary background throughout courses of Global energy trends and outlook, Sustainable transport systems, Energy in smart buildings, Energy for future factories.
