The Science of Religion emphasises method and theory and investigates mainly Buddhism (especially the Tibetan and Mongolian forms), and the religions of South Asia. Beyond investigating Buddhist traditions and Hindu religions, the close collaboration with the Faculty of Humanities allows for interdisciplinary explorations of other religious traditions, such as Judaism (in collaboration with the Institute of Jewish Studies), Christianity (in collaboration with the Faculty of Theology) or Islam (in collaboration with the Institute of Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies).
