Overview
The Transformations in European Societies doctoral program from Ludwig-Maximilians-University (LMU) Munich focuses on the impact of these transformations in Europe, but also places them in a global context.
Features
- The doctoral program is a joint project of institutes with a focus on cultural studies and anthropology at universities in Basel, Graz, Londonderry (University of Ulster, Magee Campus), Copenhagen, Munich (Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität), Murcia and Tel Aviv.
- Within the framework of the program, doctoral candidates are integrated into a network of young academics and established researchers, providing a forum for intensive academic discussion and allowing the doctoral candidates to develop international contacts.
Programme Structure
Research Areas
- Societies and social spaces change constantly, and certainly not just since people have started talking about globalization.
- This means that profound cultural transformations are a constant throughout history.
- Historical and contemporary processes and phenomena linked to these transformations lie at the heart of the research agenda of our doctoral program, which deals with European societies even though the transformations occur in global contexts.
