Overview
The Communication Studies degree offered at Kadir Has University seeks to provide candidates with theoretical knowledge in the fields of media and communication studies and to provide them with necessary experience and competence to conduct academic research.
Key facts
Communication Studies Ph.D. Program works concordantly with the departments of New Media, Advertising, Public Relations and Information, Radio, Television and Cinema and Visual Communication Design with the contributions of faculty members in the Faculty of Communication. It also works together with Communication Studies, Corporate Communication and Public Relations Management, Cinema-Television, and New Media M.A. programs in the School of Graduate Studies.
The program mainly includes courses on theory in social studies, media, communication, culture, globalization, digitalization, artistic production and design, corporate governance and organization.
The program constitutes courses (60 ECTS in total), followed by written and oral comprehensive exams, thesis proposal and the doctoral thesis. In order to graduate from the program, at least one international publication (in Q1 journals) derived from the doctoral thesis is required.
The Ph.D. program in Communication Studies encourages the candidates to have the necessary qualifications to produce interdisciplinary scholarly work and studies research. The program language is English.
