About the program

The Gender Studies program at Kadir Has University aims to introduce students to theoretical frameworks, discourses, methods and progressive practices focusing on gender, creating a rich academic environment in which complex relationships between gender relations and social, cultural, political, economic and spatial formations can be explored.

The program positions itself not at the point of intersection of social sciences and humanities as is the case in many of its counterparts in the world and in Turkey, but within an interdisciplinary framework which aims at critically analyzing research traditions in social sciences and humanities and their ontological and epistemological premises, by problematizing knowledge and knowledge production processes in light of gender concepts.
