About the programme

The Public Health PhD programme at The Chinese University of Hong Kong supports interdisciplinary studies in the field of public health and primary care and aims to build the capacity of students in research methodologies as they relate to public and population health, and community oriented primary care.

The fields of study are related to health protection, health improvement and as well as research methodologies and health service provision. Students will need to learn by conducting independent research and by participating in the work of the CUHK JC School of Public Health and Primary Care.

General requirements

The applicant shall have:

a master's degree from a recognized university; or
graduated from a recognized university and obtained a bachelor's degree, normally with honours not lower than Second Class; or
graduated from an honours programme of a recognized university with a bachelor's degree, normally achieving an average grade of not lower than "B"; or
completed a course of study in a tertiary educational institution and obtained professional or similar qualifications equivalent to an honours degree.
