Programme Structure
The purpose of this qualification is to provide students the tools and skills to:
- effectively and independently apply research methodology skills and all the related activities thereto
- prepare a research proposal and conduct a thesis demonstrating an original contribution to the field of study/discipline
- demonstrate the competencies required for evaluation in order to report the results for academic submission.

General requirements
- A student who is in possession of a Master’s qualification in Public Management and Governance on NQF LEVEL 9 may apply for admission to this qualification.
- The Dean of the College of Business and Economics may refuse a student admission to the doctoral qualification if of the opinion that the student’s academic background is insufficient for the proposed studies.
