Overview
The goal of this People with Dementia in Acute-Care Hospitals program at Heidelberg University is to examine innovative approaches to patient care delivery for people with dementia. New findings obtained in interdisciplinary studies shall be used subsequently to enhance quality of life for people with dementia during and after their hospital stay.
Goals and Objectives
- Provide support and qualification programs for scientifically trained personnel in order to enhance medical and nursing care practice and to improve teaching quality in the respective disciplines
- Incorporate existing knowledge into interdisciplinary research, thus improving awareness for dementia; develop strategies for improving health care delivery and treatments meeting the individual needs of people with dementia; implement new approaches

- Architecture of Dementia-sensitive Hospitals
- Advance Care Planning (ACP) and Detection of Delirium
- Care of People with Dementia in Acute-care Hospitals
