About

The Politics, Economy and the Organisation of Society programme offered by Södertörn University develops advanced research expertise in societal institutions, governance, and social and economic systems.

Overview

This Politics, Economy and the Organisation of Society programme offered by Södertörn University  focuses on the study of how political, economic, and social bodies are organised and evolve, supporting research into governance, economic systems, public administration, and social structures. It enables analysis of how institutions shape societal development and how interactions between political, economic, and social processes influence change.

Key Facts

The academic environment is multidisciplinary, integrating subjects such as business studies, journalism, law, economics, political science, sociology, and social work. Social Work contributes a focus on vulnerable individuals and groups, social conditions, and interventions addressing marginalisation, including the role of organisations and preventive strategies in shaping living conditions. Training combines disciplinary and collaborative approaches, enabling independent research on institutional development, social policies, and societal transformations.
