General requirements
- Master’s degree or 240 ECTS credits including 60 at second-cycle level, or equivalent knowledge required
- Exemptions may be granted in special cases by the faculty
- At least 30 ECTS credits in Linguistics at advanced level required, including a 15 ECTS thesis
- Proficiency required in the language of the thesis (e.g. Swedish, English, or Swedish Sign Language)
- Language proficiency must include reading, speaking, and writing (or signing where applicable)
- Language skills assessed through research plan, academic work, certificates, and interview
- Equivalent qualifications may be accepted if recognised by the department
