Overview
Aims
The aim of PhD education in Philosophy at Stockholm University is to instill into the student independent thinking, and theoretical and practical skills in order be able to conduct original research in philosophy at the highest level, as well as to utilise the acquired skills in academic as well non-academic careers.
The Department of Philosophy is Sweden’s largest philosophy department, and is divided into Theoretical Philosophy and Practical Philosophy. It has a thriving graduate community that hosts the biennial Stockholm Graduate Philosophy Conference, and an active research culture.
