About the programme
Our mission in this Pharmaceutical Biosciences programme at Uppsala University is to lead in research that benefits the development of effective and safe pharmaceuticals.
We aim to increase the knowledge about the uptake, pharmacokinetics, metabolism, effects and side-effects of pharmaceutical drugs. The research is performed in a number of research groups.
Cooperation with society is of great importance to us, and our research is often conducted in close collaboration with national and international laboratories or pharmaceutical companies.

General requirements
A person meets the general entry requirements for PhD Programmes if he or she:
- has been awarded a second-cycle qualification;
- has satisfied the requirements for courses comprising at least 240 credits, of which at least 60 credits were awarded in the second-cycle; or
- has acquired substantially equivalent knowledge in some other way in Sweden or abroad.
