General requirements

Meet the general eligibility requirements for third-cycle studies.
Hold a second-cycle degree, or have completed at least 240 credits including 60 credits at second-cycle level, or possess equivalent knowledge acquired in Sweden or abroad.
Be considered capable of successfully undertaking and completing doctoral education.
Have completed at least 30 second-cycle credits in a subject of central relevance to Sami Studies.
Include a 15-credit thesis/essay focused on issues related to Sami cultures and society.
Exemptions from the general eligibility requirements may be granted in exceptional cases for applicants with special grounds.
