About the programme
The Department of Soil and Environment develops the scientific basis for sustainable land use from several perspectives. Soil Science is a multi-and interdisciplinary subject and covers the interaction between biological, chemical and physical processes and properties of the soil environment.
Research at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences seeks knowledge about the interaction between man, soil, plant and the surrounding environment in forest and agricultural landscapes as well as urban environments.

General requirements
To be admitted, you need to:
- hold a second-cycle (Master’s) qualification or at least 240 credits, of which a minimum of 60 credits are from second-cycle courses;
- meet the English language requirements;
- demonstrate enough potential and skills to be able to successfully complete your studies.
Those who appear to be best suited to doctoral studies will be invited to an interview.
