About the programme

Occupational Therapy encompasses and develops knowledge of human daily activities in relation to development processes, participation and health.

The subject studies at Luleå University of Technology how factors related to the individual in interaction with environmental factors affect the ability of individuals, groups and populations to engage in daily activities and the importance of such activities to health and ill health.

Furthermore, occupational therapy includes knowledge of how activities can be used therapeutically to promote health and development, and prevent ill health.

  • An applicant meets the general entry requirements for doctoral (third-cycle) studies if he or she has been awarded a Master’s (second-cycle) qualification, has satisfied the requirements for courses comprising at least 240 credits, of which at least 60 second-cycle credits, or has acquired substantially equivalent knowledge in another way, in Sweden or elsewhere
  • A Degree of Master with main subject/main area in Occupational therapy/Degree in Occupational therapy is required for admission to thirdcycle studies in Occupational therapy
