Overview

The School of Medicine at Queen's University offers a four-year program leading to the degree of Doctor of Medicine.

This program must meet all the requirements for accreditation and prepare graduates for postgraduate training leading to licensure and certification.

Its special strengths are related to the opportunities for close, personal interactions between students and faculty members and for students to obtain particularly relevant, extensive, hands-on clinical experience under supervision, especially in ambulatory settings.

Curriculum

The graduating medical student will have developed effective learning strategies that include the capacity to engage in reflection and self-assessment, the ability to critically evaluate information and its sources (the literature), and the ability to contribute to the process of knowledge creation (research).

As scholars, physicians demonstrate a lifelong commitment to reflective learning as well as the creation, dissemination, application and translation of medical knowledge.

General requirements

To qualify for entry into the School of Medicine, candidates are required to have a minimum of 30 half courses or 15 full courses (or in combination) at the undergraduate university level in a university program completed by June 30th of the year of entry.

The Admissions Committee will use ONLY your cumulative GPA in assessment of your application.

You must submit all transcripts through OMSAS, including education taken outside of Canada.
