About the programme
The PhD student is a young researcher who develops a doctoral project followed by a thesis supervisor and organized by the Mathematics and Digital Sciences graduate school at the University of Lille.
The PhD student is trained in research through research, that is to say by the professional experience acquired within a research lab. At the end of her/his research work and the writing of a manuscript, the PhD student presents his original scientific work during a defense in presence of a committee.

- The candidate must hold a national master's degree or another degree conferring the grade of master, following a course of training or professional experience establishing his or her aptitude for research.
- Any candidate for the preparation of a doctorate must demonstrate the excellence of his or her previous academic career and an aptitude for research. He/she must have at least obtained all the M1 and M2 modules in the first session and must be well ranked within his/her promotion.
