Overview
Mission
Process and Energy at Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) enables the energy transition by educating future (mechanical) engineers and by developing novel processes and equipment for the production and consumption of synthetic fuels, chemicals and materials.
We perform outstanding research in the fundamentals (thermodynamics and fluid dynamics) and in technologies (energy technology and storage, process intensification and multiphase systems).
Programme Structure
The Process & Energy department of the faculty of Mechanical Engineering (ME) works along three main themes:
Energy:
- Fuel cells, Gas turbines, Heat pumps, Thermal Storage, Electrochemical conversion, Biomass
- Turbulence, Transport Phenomena, Micro- and Nanofluidics, Granular materials, Multiphase Flows, Interfaces, Cavitation, Biological Flows, Complex Fluids
- Process Intensification, Phase behavior, Membrane processes, Reactor Engineering, Combustion, Crystallization
