Overview
HITEC Energy and Climate is a graduate school for doctoral candidates at the Forschungszentrum Juelich and its partner universities RWTH Aachen University, Ruhr-Universitaet Bochum, Universitaet zu Koeln, Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, and Bergische Universitaet Wuppertal.
Overview
Its main objective is to foster interdisciplinary communication among PhD students working in the fields of energy and climate research and to enhance the PhD experience by providing additional scientific and professional qualifications and international exchanges that supplement the candidates’ research work.

General requirements
- Candidates are expected to hold a Master's degree, a German “Diplom” or an equivalent degree at the start of their PhD project. The specifics of the degree and the required experience are specified for each project.
- Degrees from countries outside the European Community are subject to a recognition procedure depending on the University chosen. The faculty may ask for additional qualifications to be completed in the early phase of the thesis work.
