About the program
Towards becoming a Referral Hub for Engineering Education and Sustainable Solutions Based on Islamic Principles for a Better World, the Faculty's mission at the International Islamic University of Malaysia is:
- To provide quality engineering education with sufficient scope of knowledge and application.
- To include fundamental and specialised knowledge and practice in engineering.
- To grant a broad base in management, ethics, and humanities.
- To provide based and prepare students to serve the current and emerging needs of the society.
Programme Structure
Structure:
- All PhD students are required to submit a thesis that contains the findings of their research project.
- Students will select a research topic via consultation with their supervisors who will guide the students in the preparation and the progress of both research work and thesis writing.
- The students will defend their thesis in front of a Thesis Examination Committee in a public seminar.

- A relevant Bachelor's degree and Master's degree or equivalent from IIUM or any other accredited institution of higher learning
- A suitable Research Proposal is required for Ph.D. applicants

- Academic certificates and transcripts (verified by Institution or Ministry)
- Research Proposal (compulsory for those applying for PhD programmes by research only mode)
- Financial statement or scholarship letter (if any)
