Programme Structure

PhD candidates will have to complete an in-depth study on a particular research topic in the form of a thesis, substantiated by a series of academic milestones including a proposal defense and a viva voce.
In addition to the Thesis component, candidates are required to complete three modules, namely Research Methodology, Academic Writing, and Research Proposal. By undergoing these modules, candidates will develop the necessary skills and knowledge to conduct research successfully towards the completion of the thesis.

Master’s Degree in Nursing (Level 7 Malaysian Qualifications Frameworks, MQF) or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.75 or equivalent, as accepted by the HEP Senate; OR
Master’s Degree in Nursing (Level 7 MQF) or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 and not meeting theCGPA of 2.75, can be accepted subject to rigorous internal assessment; OR
Master’s Degree in Nursing (Level 7 MQF) or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and not meeting the CGPA of 2.50 can be accepted, subject to a minimum of five years working experience in the relevant field and rigorous internal assessment; OR
A Master’s degree in Nursing Science (Level 7 MQF) or related fields accepted by the HEP Senate; OR
Other qualifications equivalent to a Master’s degree (Level 7 MQF) recognized by the Government of Malaysia.
