General requirements

To be granted admission to the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) graduate program at the UST School of Engineering, an applicant should satisfactorily meet all of the following criteria as minimum requirements for admission:

Hold an MSc degree in a suitable specialization approved by the School Council, from a university or institute recognized by SCU. The MSc degree should be in a field/discipline related to the PhD program the student is applying for.

Pass the admission exam organized by the School Council for the degree selected by the applicant. Applicants who fail to pass the admission exam may still be admitted to the PhD program provided that they successfully complete qualifying courses assigned by the School Council, with a minimum GPA of 3.00

Written statement of purpose of up to 1000 words highlighting interest in the graduate program.
