Maryville University

About

History

Maryville University was founded as an academy for young women in 1872, by the Religious of the Sacred Heart. Now, as a private, four-year university offering 90 + degree programs at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels, Maryville still stands firmly on our heritage.

Education

At Maryville University, you can choose from over 90 undergraduate and graduate college majors. During your studies, you’ll actively participate in the learning process by doing, creating and interacting with each other and the innovative environment that surrounds you. With our revolutionary approach to personalized learning, it’s no surprise 97 percent of Maryville graduates obtain a job in their chosen field or attend graduate school within six months of graduating. That’s the Maryville advantage.

Research

The primary objective of the Maryville University Office of Institutional Research is to support our students through the collection, analysis, and reporting of institutional data for decision making and accountability.

Career

Maryville University is here to support you in your hiring efforts. We look forward to connecting your organization with our students and alumni. Employers connect with our students through a variety of channels and we would love to talk about how to grow your presence on campus.

Services

Student services

Along with fostering student-sponsored activities that help sustain a vibrant campus life at Maryville University, Student Life is also dedicated to providing meaningful services and programs for our students. Health and Wellness and Personal Counseling care for your physical and mental well-being; Office of Service and Spiritual Life and Community Service supports your spiritual interests and promotes civic engagement opportunities; and Office of Diversity & Inclusion provides cultural enrichment programs designed to create a supportive social and academic environment for students of diverse backgrounds, cultures and ethnicities.

Housing services

The Residential Life program at Maryville strives to meet the differing needs of a changing student population. All students living in university housing can expect a high-quality residential program that provides a fun, supportive, and challenging environment where every student can live, learn and develop academic and social skills.

Library services

The Maryville University Library, built in 1988, is a 47,167 square foot facility that houses both Library collections and services. The Library received a facelift in the summer of 2007, the main goal of which was to create collaborative learning spaces for students. This effort introduced the installation of an Information Commons, providing approximately 35 computers for student use.

ICT services

The Maryville University Data Network (the Network) consists of the wiring, networking hardware and software, wireless networking equipment, networking services (including, but not limited to, file storage, distributed applications, electronic collaboration, and video conferencing), and Internet services.

Medical services

The mission is to help Maryville students maintain optimal health through treatment of acute health conditions, management of chronic health conditions and participation in activities that promote life-long wellness.
