Mainz University of Applied Sciences is a young university. It has been independent since 1996 and has been identified in its logo as a "University of Applied Sciences" since 1999. But the origins go all the way back to 1757, the year in which the elector of Mainz decided to found an academy of painting and sculpture.
In our three schools of Design, Engineering and Business, we offer a solid foundation of knowledge for optimum professional development - with a wide range of specialization options and scope for interdisciplinary cooperation. We maintain excellent contacts within the regional economy and to public institutions and are networked with more than 500 companies in the Rhine-Main metropolitan region.

Mainz University of Applied Sciences' strength lies in applied research and development. The diversity of professional competences is combined in the three schools of engineering, design and business.
