The University of Genoa offers international students a wide range of welcoming activities. The International Students Office can help you find an accommodation, get the residence permit as well as the Italian fiscal code.
Housing services
The average price for a single room ranges between 300 and 350 € per month, depending on the district and on the level of comfort required (restored apartment, internet, wi-fi, lift, terrace); the average price for a double room is 250-300 € per person per month. The price of an entire flat ranges between 500 and 700 € per month.
Medical services
EU students come to Italy with their European Health Service card issued in their country of residence. If they need to undertake medical examinations, they can address any general practitioner free of charge.

Detailed Admission Process
Getting accepted into the STRATEGOS MSc at the University of Genoa was a very exciting moment for me. The confirmation of approval felt rewarding after completing the selection process, and it gave me confidence in the quality and competitiveness of the program. What stood out most was how structured and detailed the next steps were. After acceptance, I received clear instructions about registration, pre-enrolment, and visa procedures. Everything was explained step by step, including separate registrations on different platforms and applying for financial support like grants. This level of detail is helpful because it ensures students know exactly what to do. At the same time, the process can feel a bit complex, especially for international students. There are multiple systems to register in, and it requires careful attention to avoid mistakes. However, once you follow each step properly, the process becomes manageable. I also appreciated that there are opportunities for financial support, which makes the programme more accessible. It shows that the university is aware of the needs of international students. Overall, my experience has been positive so far. The admission process is detailed and requires effort, but it reflects a well-organized system. I would recommend it to students who are ready to follow a structured process and are interested in a specialized and internationally focused program.
A Student�s Proud Achievement
Receiving my acceptance into the STRATEGOS MSc program at the University of Genoa was a truly rewarding and motivating experience. From a student�s perspective, the entire selection process felt structured, competitive, and meaningful, which made the final approval even more satisfying. What stood out to me most was the clarity and professionalism of the communication. Even when there were minor system errors mentioned, the administration ensured that selected students were properly informed and reassured. Being officially approved without needing additional testing gave me confidence in the strength of my application and academic background. The program itself appears highly interdisciplinary, combining engineering, strategy, and security�fields that are increasingly important in today�s global landscape. As a student, I find this blend particularly exciting because it promises both technical knowledge and strategic thinking skills, which are essential for future leadership roles. The post-acceptance guidance was detailed and helpful. Although the number of steps (such as Universitaly registration, pre-enrollment, and visa processing) may feel overwhelming at first, the instructions provided were clear enough to follow step by step. I especially appreciated the information about financial support opportunities like the ALISEO grant, which makes the program more accessible to international students. Overall, this experience has been both encouraging and inspiring. It not only validates my academic efforts but also opens the door to an international learning environment in Italy. I am genuinely excited to begin this journey and grow both professionally and personally through STRATEGOS.
How Unige changed my study method
When I graduated high school, I wasn't really capable of studying yet. Once I enrolled in university, despite some initial hesitation and after taking various courses, including supplementary afternoon courses, I finally learned what it means to have a proper study method. Thanks, Unige.
