History
On May 15, 1989, Bond University welcomed its first cohort of 322 students at its brand new, state-of-the-art campus on Queensland’s Gold Coast.The vision for Australia’s first private, not-for-profit university, was to provide an exclusive educational experience consisting of the highest international standards, under the tutelage of the country’s leading academics.

Bond University's 5 year Research Strategic Plan (2018-2022) sets out a vision and strategy to position high quality and focused research as a core to University business. The plan sets bold measures of research success for the University and its students that reflect the critical function of the University in society as an institution for learning, discovery, scholarship and invention. It recognises that Bond has quickly developed its research profile and productivity over a relatively short time frame and acknowledges the need for capacity building investments and strategy to facilitate research impact.

- We offer a range of housing options on campus which includes a compulsory dining plan. This makes it easy to live and study on the Gold Coast. You have the choice of private or shared rooms, sharing all the fun of student housing life with your fellow roommates.
- For those wanting more independence, there are a range of off-campus accommodation options within walking distance to Bond, as the University is located in the middle of a genuine residential suburb.

Bond University Library provides customer-focused, quality innovative services, information resources and programs to support the teaching, learning and research needs of the University community in three locations and through its online services.

Campus life
- Bond University is the only university campus on the Gold Coast that is located right in the heart of a genuine residential neighbourhood. For students wanting to live nearby, this means there is a wide range of rental accommodation available within walking distance.
- Bond University is nestled on the cusp of Robina abutting surrounding suburbs including Varsity Lakes, Burleigh Waters and Mermaid Waters. Getting around is easy with public transport options available including buses, trains, taxis including Uber, and bicycle lanes on most roads.
Sports facilities
Bond University Sports Centre is open seven days a week and membership is included in your Student Services and Amenities Fee. In addition to the weights and boxing circuit rooms, they offer a weekly timetable of aerobics, TRX, pilates and yoga classes or you can soothe away the study stress with a spa, sauna and swim in the 25m and 50m pool.
Student clubs
The Bond University Student Association (BUSA) is your student organisation and provides services to the broader student community. BUSA's mission is to make student life at Bond more rewarding - ranging from enhancing academic pursuits, facilitating sporting involvement and satisfying social necessities. BUSA is a voluntary, apolitical group of elected students here to represent you and help you make the most of your time at Bond.
