On May 15, 1989, Bond University welcomed its first cohort of 322 students at its brand new, state-of-the-art campus on Queensland’s Gold Coast. Modelled on the traditions of the world’s most elite educational institutions, the vision for Australia’s first private, not-for-profit university was to provide an exclusive educational experience of the highest international standards.

Bond University has established University Research Centres to enhance the University's reputation for quality research output and research training.

Our University Research Centres are interdisciplinary and will substantially enhance the University's research base, research income and profile. We also aim to build strategic relationships with other academic institutions and external partners.

Housing services

Bond University Student Housing caters for both domestic and international students. You may be far from home, but you will never feel alone, surrounded by fellow students who are also getting used to life away from their families.

Students have two options for accommodation while studying at Bond:

  • On campus (On campus accommodation is not available to Bond University College English students)
  • Off campus

- Studio rooms and apartments- Homestay (Bond University College English students who are under 18 years of age must use homestay) 

- Couple, family and share accommodation

Bond University Library provides customer-focused, quality innovative services, information resources and programs to support the teaching, learning and research needs of the University community.

Campus life

Bond University is the only university campus on the Gold Coast that is located right in the heart of a genuine residential neighbourhood. For students wanting to live nearby, this means there is a wide range of rental accommodation available within walking distance.

Bond University is nestled on the cusp of Robina abutting surrounding suburbs including Varsity Lakes, Burleigh Waters and Mermaid Waters. Getting around is easy with public transport options available including buses, trains, taxis including Uber, and bicycle lanes on most roads. 

Sports facilities

Bond University Sports Centre is open seven days a week and membership is included in your Student Activity Fee. In addition to the weights and boxing circuit rooms, they offer a weekly timetable of aerobics, TRX, pilates and yoga classes or you can soothe away the study stress with a spa, sauna and swim in the 50m pool.

Student clubs

The Bond University Student Association (BUSA) makes student life at Bond more rewarding - ranging from enhancing academic pursuits, facilitating sporting involvement and satisfying social necessities. BUSA is a voluntary, apolitical group of elected students here to represent you. BUSA offers a number of services, including clubs and societies, events, student support and external engagement.
