History
The University of Western Sydney (UWS) began operation on 1st January 1989, under the terms of the University of Western Sydney Act, 1988 which had been passed by the New South Wales Parliament in December 1988. However, the predecessors of the University date back as far as 1891 with the establishment of the Hawkesbury Agricultural College.

Uniclinic offers a range of therapeutic health practices at reduced rates to the general public. Treatments are provided by students who are under the supervision of qualified clinicians. You do not need a referral to attend the Uniclinic.

- One of the best things about life at WSU is that there's always something happening! From live music, outdoor activities, sports and PlayStation competitions, to one of many social events organised by your Campus Life team (CLT) or Student Clubs, you're bound to find something that interests you.
- Campus Life also helps to maintain facilities and equipment that are available to students including table tennis tables, pool tables, board games and sporting equipment in student lounge areas. Just ask your Campus Life Officer about using these.
Sports facilities
At Western Sydney University we understand the important role that sport plays in our region. Our commitment to sport is showcased by 1500 current students studying sports related courses, several key relationships with Western Sydney teams, industry expertise, Elite Athlete support and a reputation for sportsmanship at the Unisport Nationals Events.
