Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan

AWKUM, established in 2009, is the second-largest university of the province and stands 2nd in the last HEC ranking for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Five of its campuses have been upgraded as independent universities i.e. Women University Mardan, Bacha Khan University Charsadda, University of Swabi, the University of Chitral, and University of Bunir.

The university has 32 academic departments where 95 undergraduate and graduate programs are offered to 12000 students. The University has introduced all the modern departments, teaching basic sciences, social and applied sciences with a credible base of quality education and research to equip the minds of young scholars with worthwhile objectives of life. The University attract students from Swabi, Charsadda, Nowsehra, Mardan, Swat, Shangla, Buner, Dir, Chitral, Northern Punjab, Kohat, Southern parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and the extensive Tribal region along the boundaries of the Province. 

In the recent past, HEC awarded and ranked it 1st in the province and 15th in the country for research awards under National Research Program for Universities.

The Mission of Abdul Wali Khan University Career Development Center is to help students to explore a number of future professions in order to make effective career choices. The prime purpose of the Career Development Centre is to provide services, programs and opportunities to the students and alumni, resulting in self-sufficiency of the graduates, who could effectively market their talent, skills and experiences for the attainment of life-long and personally rewarding career.
