The administration is pretty good about supporting students and communicates well. Pretty lively party school if that's your niche, but also a good university for conducting research if that's more your focus.
I like UT, it is very rigorous but overall it is a good school. I would say if you are pre-med there are easier places to go and get a 4.0 but I overall like UT. The school has great sports and sports fans despite the issues with The Eyes. I would definitely research how easy/hard it is to change majors before coming
What I Really Liked: I really appreciated the strong balance between theory and practical learning in Forest Resources Management. The field trips, practical sessions, and exposure to real forest ecosystems helped me understand how classroom knowledge applies to real-world environmental and resource management challenges. I also valued the emphasis on sustainability, conservation, and responsible resource use, which has shaped my perspective on environmental stewardship and long-term development. What Can Be Improved: While the program is rich in content, more access to modern equipment, up-to-date technology, and advanced field tools would further enhance learning. Increased practical exposure, internships, and partnerships with environmental agencies and forestry organizations would also help students gain more hands-on experience and industry-ready skills. Overall Study Experience: Overall, my study experience has been enriching, challenging, and transformative. The program has strengthened my academic discipline, critical thinking, and passion for sustainable forest management. It has prepared me to contribute meaningfully to environmental conservation, research, and community development, and has motivated me to pursue further academic and professional growth in the field.
