Twelve colleges and schools makeup the academic areas at Texas Tech University and offer more than 150 undergraduate degrees, 100 graduate degrees, and 50 doctoral degrees.

Student Government Association
To strive for honor in the service and protection of the student body of Texas Tech University, through representing their interests by developing personal relationships. In addition, to work diligently to cultivate partnerships with the student body, administration, faculty, staff, and community, to maximize each student's educational and personal growth. The Robert H. Ewalt Student Recreation Center opened its doors for the first time in the spring of 1980 and is one of the largest campus recreation facilities in the United States.Other facilities include a 6,530 square foot free weight room; a circuit training room with selectorized weight equipment; two cardiovascular equipment areas and an Entertainment Exercise Studio with over 120 pieces of cardiovascular equipment total; speed bag room; aerobics/dance studios; large mat room; 12 handball/racquetball courts; elevated 1/8 of mile jogging track; carpeted locker rooms with shower facilities and saunas; and a squash court. Located on the lower level is an Equipment Issue window.
