History
KIMEP University is the oldest and the largest North American-styled University in Central Asia that was founded in 1992 by decree of Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. KIMEP is an independent, not-for-profit educational institution serving a multicultural and multinational student body, situated on a modern campus in the center of Almaty.
Education
The University offers 17 English-taught degree programs, including 9 undergraduate programs in Accounting and Audit, Finance, Management, Marketing, Law, Economics, International Relations, Public and Municipal Administration, Journalism and 7 graduate programs in Business Administration, International Relations, Public and Municipal Administration, International Journalism, Economics, International Law and Foreign Languages. It also offers an Executive MBA program and a wide range of certificate programs and short professional courses.

Student services
Department of International Academic Mobility assists international newly admitted and current students with the following services:
- Advises in daily student life matters and addresses their needs to relevant departments within KIMEP to seek solutions
- Advises on non-academic issues in cooperation with relevant units at KIMEP after arrival on campus
- Helps international students get Buddy assistantship in cooperation with the KIMEP Student Association to adjust to KIMEP and Almaty
- Organizes Orientation session, Welcome and Farewell parties
Housing services
The Dormitory is conveniently located on KIMEP University campus in the center of Almaty city. Dormitory has space for 424 students, accommodated in double and triple rooms. Living space is spread out over four floors. Facilities in the rooms include desks, telephones and refrigerators. In each section, there is a shower and toilet room.
Library services
KIMEP University owns the largest English-language library in CIS, which has more than 102 000 volumes: approximately 74 800 in English with the remainder in Kazakh and Russian. The main collection contains materials on all of the academic disciplines taught at the University: business, social sciences, law, languages and a variety of general education subjects.
Medical services
We provide outpatient medical care for KIMEP students and staff. The Medical Center of KIMEP is located inside the dormitory on the ground floor.
Health care service on campus, including physicians, nurse, injections, electrocardiogram, physiotherapy, first aid and psychologist are always free. Students and staff may visit the Medical Center of KIMEP as often as they like.
Sports facilities
The Sports Center is conveniently located on campus and has almost everything to meet the requirements of the sports activities of students, faculty members and staff. Students at KIMEP University benefit from a fully-equipped sports center, including a gym, an indoor basketball court and a floodlit all-weather outdoor football pitch.
Student clubs
KIMEP University offers its students opportunities for interesting and unforgettable extracurricular activities. Each semester students full of enthusiasm and ambitions independently hold various events rousing surprise and delight.
More than 30 student clubs and organizations of very different nature with the goal to make university life unique and vibrant are registered at KIMEP. Among them are intellectual clubs, sport teams, charity organizations and clubs that promote individual and collective creative realization of individual.
Students actively participate in extra-curricular activity forming in total 41 student organizations, including KIMEP Student Government (KSA).

- AFBE (Asian Forum on Business Education, Australia) > Level III (international) for the Executive Master in Business Administration program
