Kanazawa University, inheriting the tradition of its predecessor school, was established in 1949. After coming through the turbulent postwar period, the University has certainly contributed towards the development of Japan and the world. However, with its new start as a National University Corporation, the time has come become again into the meaning of being “a university dedicated to society.”
The University offers programs of study in seven faculties: Letters, Education, Law, Economy, Science, Pharmaceutical Science, Engineering, and five schools: Education, Human and Socio-Environment Studies, Natural Science & Technology, Law.

The Kanazawa University Co-op (Kanazawa University Student Co-operative Union) handles a large number of tenements such as apartments and condominiums, and introduces the students to such housing facilities. It has ties to almost all of the real estate agencies located around the university, making it very convenient when you are looking for a place to live. For international students who have decided to come to Kanazawa University, the university will also offer support such as looking for a place for them to live and helping in the procedures necessary to sign the lease.

Kanazawa University has two campuses, Kakuma and Takaramachi-Tsuruma. Kakuma Campus is located in a huge natural setting, and its many orange-tan buildings harmonize with their green surroundings.
Kanazawa City is located on the Sea of Japan in the middle area of Japan.
