The National Autonomous University of Mexico was founded on September 21, 1551 under the name of the Royal and Pontifical University of Mexico.
UNAM offers a wide and varied educational offer at the undergraduate level, made up of 130 careers in the areas of Physical-Mathematical Sciences and Engineering; Biological, Chemical and Health Sciences; Social Sciences and Humanities and Arts. It has 31 academic headquarters, both in Mexico City and in the interior of the Republic.
