Housing services

All AUR students have the option of living in university-owned accommodation, which is an apartment shared with other AUR students in one of the neighborhoods surrounding the university. All of our lodgings are close to the city center and are equipped with the full set of modern amenities, so you have all the convenience of private accommodation with the authentic experience of living in Rome.

As opposed to isolated dormitories, our apartments give you the opportunity to have a real taste of Italian life and to integrate into a community that you can call home. One of the best things about Rome is its diversity.

Library services

Library: The AUR Library is located in Evans Hall, a stately two-story building housing 15,000 volumes, 1200 DVDs and Videos, as well as access to important online databases and a vast network of Roman libraries.

ICT services

Technology: Main general purpose computer lab with 55 PCs and several print stations; PC teaching classroom; Mac-based multimedia laboratory; 14 library workstations; wireless Internet access throughout the campus and its gardens and terraces.

Medical services

Italian law requires all non-European visiting students to obtain a mandatory state emergency health coverage for the duration of their study in Italy. The University facilitates this process by arranging the purchase of the insurance and the compilation of the applicable documents for the authorities. This insurance coverage gives the student complete access to emergency public medical care.

Campus life

Overlooking the historical center, the university is located on top of the Janiculum, Rome’s highest hill. With its own garden of Roman pines it offers a spectacular view of Rome and the surrounding hills. The campus is near two city parks, Villa Sciarra and Villa Pamphili and historical landmarks. The area also hosts diplomatic residences and several international academies.

Sports facilities

AUR provides free gym memberships for full-time degree-seeking students and English Language Program students. All other AUR students are eligible for discounted membership that they can purchase or renew each semester directly at the gym.

Student clubs

There is a large range of diverse and fully inclusive clubs and activities at AUR. Some are faculty-led and some are student-led, but all are dynamic and fun and we encourage all new students to get involved in at least one of our extracurricular offerings. If there is a club or activity you'd like to see that we don’t currently have, come and set it up yourself. Student Life will be here to help.

  • AUR is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education and is a non-profit institution.
