History
Shenkar was founded in 1970 as the “College for Fashion and Textile Technology”, with the goal of qualifying skilled manpower for the Israeli industry, as well as providing it with advanced R&D services.
Education
Combining faculties of engineering, design and art is the basis of this institution’s unique multidisciplinary academics, allowing students and professors to combine cutting-edge technologies with contemporary design and artistic concepts. Each faculty has its own character, yet maintains fruitful collaborations with the other faculties, exposing students to a variety of disciplines and different fields of knowledge.
Research
The first class of the college consisted of approx. 100 students, but the college has grown ever since, becoming a public college, recognized by the Israeli Council for Higher Education. During its 45 years of existence, Shenkar produced thousands of engineering, design and art graduates, enjoying incredible success in Israel and worldwide - many of whom assume senior and influential positions.

Library services
Our library is host to a unique collection of 30,000 books on fashion, design and textiles; as well as on all disciplines of engineering. We subscribe to almost 100 periodicals such as Vogue, Elle, and Promostyl, which forecasts future directions in fashion.

The courses were interesting and rewarding
The courses gave me a lot of practical experience which helped me land my first job. The study experience is good. The one negative thing is that it require a lot of money due to the projects materials which I had to buy from my own money. Overall I'm statisfied
