The mission of translational medicine research development at Taipei Medical University (TMU) is to integrate resources from both basic research and clinical research, and invest heavily into the three major research fields: “advantageous field”, “emerging field” and “hidden potential field”. The major focus of advantageous fields will be on Cancer Translational research, Neuroscience research, Thoracic Medicine research, and Artificial Intelligence in Medicine and Health. The emerging field includes Biomedical Device, and Cell Therapy and Regeneration Medicine development. At TMU, we also allocate resources to ensure an adequate infrastructure to identify and support all hidden potential (X) fields.

Support services for international students include several off-campus dormitories (shared apartment), free shuttle service between our campuses and local transit stations, a campus counseling center, prayer spaces, a Muslim prayer room with ablution facilities as well as well-furnished laboratories with bilingual training on the operation of all high-tech equipment.
In 2004, the library was moved to the United Medical building with an area of 3,300 m2 where it contains about 150,000 volumes of books and bound journals within its collection. Currently, the library has subscriptions to around 17,000 e-Journal titles, 90,000 e-books, and 120 different e-Databases. All of the electronic resources can be accessed via the Electronic Resources Management system.
TMU is committed to facilitating ease of adjustment for new students with technology-assisted information dissemination and ample resources on campus. The University canteen offers a good selection of food that accommodates our diverse international student and staff. The on-campus copy shop and convenience stores provide a wide range of supplies that cater to students’ academic and daily life.

Overall, it's a good university. The study environment is excellent, especially since the campus is not located near shopping malls, so there are fewer distractions. Co-curricular activities are decent. The campus is a bit smaller compared to other universities and colleges, but it has a strong academic atmosphere. Many top students and scholars study here, which creates a positive sense of peer pressure and motivates students to do their best.
It is a good choice of university if you are interested in pursuing courses related to healthcare sector. The lecturers are well educated to provide sufficient knowledge required for the students in their studies. They are also willing to help the students if they face any problems regarding their studies. There are also many facilities available to aid students in practicing clinical skills. The library sources are also readily available for students and staffs to access, including online sources such as databases, journals, and other publications.
