With the formation of University Malaysia Sabah in 1994, UKM’s Sabah campus was officially closed in 1996 and the faculties permanently located back to the main campus in Bangi, Selangor. UKM has since seen tremendous growth in being able to provide an increasing number of places of learning for the people as well undertaking research in various disciplines and fields of study.
UKM now has 13 faculties, a Graduate School of Business (GSB-UKM), as well as 16 research institutes of excellence in education.
Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) has been appointed as one of the four research universities in Malaysia since 2006 based on its excellent record in research for 40 years. That recognition has gained further ground when the Malaysia Genome Institute (MGI), International Institute of Global Health and United Nations University were set up at the university.

I'm very much satisfied with my university and my course as this place has taught me a lot. It is also the reason for who I am today. I personally feel that everyone in this place is good and polite. They are very much friendly too. Apart from that, the lectures are very understanding and they will help you a lot if you're facing any issues no matter financially or emotionally. I'm grateful and blessed to be at this university.

Most lecturers were arrogant and only cared about students calling their titles (e.g. prof, dr., etc.) right instead of actually helping them in their studies. Also, students need to use Malay to write their research paper and exam answers; English is often times not allowed. Overall, I don't really enjoy studying here and I don't think I've learned a lot from this university.
