History
- 1820 Indiana University is founded in Bloomington
- 1965 IU Kokomo moves to the new campus built on the 57-acre South Washington Street site
- 1980 The East Building opens
- 1985 The Observatory, which includes a 96-seat lecture hall opens
- 1995 The new library opens; it includes the 200-seat Kresge Auditorium and the Art Gallery.
- 2012 IUK becomes member of the NAIA and adds men’s and women’s cross country

Students can choose from a wide variety of privately owned housing options, ranging from apartments specifically meant for college students, to more traditional apartment complexes and rental homes. While IU Kokomo does not provide housing on or off campus, we can offer guidelines to help you successfully find the right place to live.
Research
Applied and Community Research Center will contract with your agency to conduct surveys, do data analysis, write reports, and/or help design a study. We also have qualified faculty & students who can conduct program evaluations, do marketing research, or meet your agencies other research needs.
Career
The IU Kokomo Career and Accessibility Center is an integral part of the educational process. Services are tailored to meet the need of each prospective student, current student, alumni, or community member in providing self assessment tools, informed academic and career decisions, experiential learning, professional development growth, and job search techniques that are essential for life-long professional career development.

Library services
The Indiana University Kokomo Library is the academic hub of campus and is one of the busiest buildings on the Kokomo campus. On the first floor of the library, you will find study rooms with screen sharing stations for group work, dozens of computer workstations, and lots of reading nooks with comfortable furniture.
ICT services
IU’s University Information Technology Services (UITS) networks division has set up “lot hot spots” on all campuses, so users can maintain social distancing while accessing the internet from their cars. The campus community can access this free service in the parking lot north of the Main Building, behind Havens Auditorium.
Medical services
The Sports Medicine care at Indiana University Kokomo is provided on a limited basis. A certified athletic trainer will evaluate injured students, faculty / staff, or student athletes if their athletic trainer is unavailable (only if needed) and provide the basic health care needs, and direct them to the client's preferred physician, nurse practitioner, etc., as necessary.

We are committed to open and free inquiry, high-quality instruction and academic support services, experiences that foster students' development, opportunities for experiential learning, and the enhancement of skills in the areas of civic engagement, diversity, and global awareness and involvement.

What if working on your educational goals went hand-in-hand with working on your fitness? Whether your thing is lifting heavy objects and putting them down or cycling with your friends or dancing like no one's watching or getting those steps in on a treadmill or the indoor track, you'll find your way to get fit at the Milt and Jean Cole Family Wellness and Fitness Center!
When you step foot in the Cole Fitness Center, you've entered a judgement free zone. Work with encouraging personal trainers, take energizing and, dare we say it, fun classes, and chase your fitness goals whatever they are!
