History

The history of IU Southeast goes back to before 1941, when we were a branch campus of Indiana University located in Jeffersonville. Our story actually goes all the way back to elite British soldiers of the 17th century… the Grenadiers!

Education

IU Southeast delivers valuable and respected Indiana University degrees and certificates in more than 50 undergraduate and graduate programs. We are adding programs constantly to keep pace with the emerging needs of the regional and global economy. In addition, students who want a more individualized approach may design their own learning journey via the Honors Program, the Masters in Interdisciplinary Studies and other online and on-campus pathways.

Research

The Applied Research and Education Center (AREC) is an outreach service of Indiana University Southeast. The Center brings the research skills and expertise of the academy together with the practical knowledge and experience of local agencies to help organizations improve programming and services that benefit the community. The AREC brings current data and research to bear on issues that face our region in order to help local leaders make informed decisions and develop programs that can best meet area needs.

ISU small‑town feel

ISU is a great college with lots of opportunities in a small town setting. I have had nothing but good experiences. There is a wide selection of classes available. I can't speak to extra curricular as I don't participate in any.

Energetic Social‑Science Faculty

The social sciences faculty here is excellent, full of energy and committed to expanding the field. I've had the chance to learn from Dr. Kahn, Dr. Adam, Dr. Adams, and Dr. Lipinski, and they're not only excellent teachers but genuinely great people as well.

Small but supportive

It's a small campus school but the quality I believe is great. The professors I have had are extremely helpful and want you to succeed. The same is said for the administrators and advisors. There have been times where I was struggling with my understanding of the work and the professors are always cooperative and provide additional support and resources to ensure I understand the course work. It is a smaller campus so there are not a lot of people that attend but that doesn't stop the clubs and activities board from bringing the fun on campus. There is not much diversity in the school but I have personally not felt discriminated against or feel that they take the diversity out of teaching. The arts and humanities courses are sure to cover that.
