Founded in 1976 by the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, UAEU aspires to become a comprehensive, research-intensive university and currently enrolls approximately 14,000 Emirati and international students.

The Non-National Students Office (NNSO) offers a wide variety of services and programs to international students at the United Arab Emirates University. The NNSO staff provide information and programs to international students about the campus and community and assists students with all matters relating to visa rules and regulations, financial issues, health insurance and the University’s policies. The NNSO also provides liaisons with governmental agencies and foreign embassies.
Living on campus and getting involved in the campus community can be one of the most rewarding experiences of university life. In our well-maintained halls of residence, students can connect with other students, engage in leadership opportunities and campus organizations, and much more.Only graduate students and non-scholarship students are required to pay the housing fees.
The UAEU Libraries are the gateway to finding a wide-range of resources and services put together to support the learning, teaching and research needs of the University community. They offer fine quality research services and resources, designed to meet the University’s diverse academic programs.Currently, UAEU has two libraries – namely the Main Library and the Medical Library

Our multicultural student study body has a wide variety of interests, and the large and growing number of student clubs and organizations reflects this. With financial and promotional backing from the Student Activities Department and Colleges, new clubs can be formed and individual activities are supported and funded.
UAEU achieved institutional accreditation on 31 March 2014, and this accreditation status extends for 5 years.
