From our founding as an engineering school in 1946, the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences builds upon its proud legacy of excellent educational programs and world-class research.
Our nine departments offer a broad array of educational programs for undergraduate and graduate students.
Multidisciplinary teams collaborate in our research centers, institutes and collaborative projects to address a wide variety of topics such as health care, personal security and recovery from natural disasters.
We are the largest and most comprehensive of the SUNY engineering schools. Our faculty and students have access to world-class experimental and computational facilities and are active in multidisciplinary research initiatives at UB. Explore this website to learn more about our school.
Excellent support services for international students and scholars are one reason UB has managed to triple its international enrollment in the past 15 years. We offer a special, week-long orientation for international students, along with an array of ongoing support services designed to help members of our international community succeed in the classroom and enjoy all that Buffalo has to offer.
Campus Living provides residential environments that assist students in being academically and personally successful. Official on-campus housing for students includes both residence halls and apartment complexes.
The School of Engineering and Applied Sciences occupies six buildings on UB's North Campus: Bell, Bonner, Davis, Furnas, Jarvis and Ketter Hall. Together, these buildings form an outstanding educational and research facility, comprising 275,000 square feet of laboratory and office space.
UB's international student clubs possess a wealth of information about academic programs, campus resources, social opportunities and life in Buffalo. While the clubs are all very different, they revolve around specific countries, cultures, languages and/or religions. It is easy to get involved with any club in which you have an interest—regardless of your own affiliation. All you need is a desire to get involved and to learn.
