We have developed an Out-of-State Tuition Waiver, to help you make our programs more affordable to strong applicants. These waivers are limited, and highly competitive.
The Office of Research and Sponsored Projects Office provides support for faculty and staff who seek external funding to support scholarly, creative, and institutional initiatives. Recently awarded grants have funded initiatives ranging from K-12 teacher development workshops to small-scale ecological studies that examine the impact of forest management on federally listed species for the National Parks Service.
Freshmen are required to live on campus according to the Freshman Residency Requirement and are guaranteed on-campus housing. University of West Georgia requires all freshmen to reside on campus unless they are married or living with parents, at their permanent address, within an approved commuting town. This policy applies to all students entering University of West Georgia and remains in effect until completion of two (2) semesters of residence or thirty (30) semester hours of academic work.
Health Services is centrally located on campus in the round building across from the University Community Center. Student parking is available in a designated area immediately adjacent to the entrance of the Health Center. Our Center is open weekdays from the day the residence halls open through the last day of exams each semester, except during official holidays.
The Campus Center is a state-of-the-art facility designed to be the "center of campus". The three-story, 131,000 square foot facility constructed in Fall 2006 includes many amenities that allow students to recreate, meet, socialize and connect to the UWG Campus.
The Center for Student Involvement aspires to actively engage every student in the University and greater community. We enhance the student experience and provide leadership development through a variety of programs, activities, and services, which contribute to the vibrancy of campus life.
Research done by Texas A&M University found that 71% of college students say their involvement contributes very strongly to their overall college experience.
