The University of Colorado Colorado Springs has a history as rich as the views our campus overlooks. As early as the 1920s, the University of Colorado offered courses at numerous Colorado Springs locations. However, when George J. Dwire sold the 80-acre Cragmor Sanitarium to the University of Colorado for $1, the campus we call home now was born.
The UCCS Career Center strives to help current students and alumni explore their options, prepare for their future and achieve their career goals. Great school with a wonderful psychology master's program! I'm not sure about the undergraduate program, as I attended my undergrad elsewhere. The program feels very tight and almost like a bit of a family. Most staff are very supportive of your goals and will help you in any way possible!
During my first year of college, I was so stressed out to the point that I considered dropping out. I told my professor and he pulled me aside after class. He encouraged me not to dropout, but not just because he saw me as a paycheck. He told me all the qualities I possessed, treated me like an equal, and gave me the courage to believe in myself. I'm about to graduate and I can tell you I've been very lucky in terms of professors. They actually care about my well-being and check in whenever there seems to be an issue. I've only had one professor that seemed like they didn't care, and I was still able to communicate with them efficiently. My only negative comment I have about my time at UCCS is they still charge me for amenities even though I'm a fully online student.
I was not a huge fan of the culture at UCCS. Everything from the campus vibe, faculty & advisors (including financial aid office) was a mess. I was set up for failure time & time again with little to absolutely no support from my advisors.
