History
The university was founded in 1928 and was named the “Institute of communication”. This institute was merged with eight other institutes in 1979 to form a university complex known as K. N. Toosi University of technology.With more than 300 full-time faculty members and 7200 students, K. N. Toosi is ranked one of the highest instructor to student ratios in Iran.

University Ranking
Library services
The university is in charge of the supplying and providing information in science and technology to support lectures and researchers at the departments has 5 branches one in each department purchasing and preparing of the book periodicals and offers documents are performed by central library for all library branches .
ICT services
Computer center of the K. N. Toosi University of Technology provides the facilities (Internet service, mail service, ...) for all of the university members in support of their teaching, research, and administrative activities and to students in support of their respective academic objectives and requirements.
Campus life
There are currently eleven faculties within the university which are located in five different campuses spread across Tehran.
