History
Western New England University was founded in Springfield, Massachusetts in 1919. Begun as the Springfield Division of Northeastern College, known as Springfield-Northeastern, the University was originally established to offer part-time educational opportunities for adult students in law, business, and accounting.

Western New England University, a comprehensive private institution with a tradition of excellence in teaching and scholarship and a commitment to service, awards undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral degrees in various departments from among our Colleges of Arts and Sciences, Business, Engineering, Pharmacy and Health Sciences, and School of Law.

Western New England University offers a great residence life experience. It all starts with a staff committed to helping students with the housing selection process and transitioning to their new life on campus. For undergraduates, the progressive approach to campus housing takes them from spacious rooms for first year students to suites, apartments, and townhouses that prepare them for life after Western New England University.
Library services
The D'Amour Library is a research and social hub for undergraduate and graduate students. With extensive print collections and access to more than 110 databases, the Library includes individual and group study spaces, computer labs, a 24x7 study area, and the Media Center.

Western New England Univeristy offers Wireless network access throughout the campus and in all residence halls.Staff, faculty and students should select the "WNE" wireless network and then go to the Internet to authenticate using their University User ID and password.

Campus life
Yes, it's true, we were named among the 30 most beautiful campuses to visit in the fall (we ranked #11 nationwide!), but we offer both beauty and brains. Step inside the spectacular $40 million Center for the Sciences and Pharmacy and all you will say is "Wow!" Housing labs and classrooms for our growing science programs and the College of Pharmacy, including a simulated pharmacy, the Center will give you exciting opportunities to be a part of our cutting-edge research.
Sports facilities
Be a player or root for your fellow classmates at the 4,500-seat Golden Bear Stadium, home to several of our 19 Division III men’s and women’s teams. Or enjoy competition on the other fields of our outstanding outdoor sports complex facilities. The hub of athletics and fitness on campus is the Alumni Healthful Living Center, featuring our field house for indoor sports, along with pool, track, fitness center, and much more.
