Business Academy Aarhus develops and offers practice-orientated higher education programmes primarily for the private business sector, and our main goal is to enable students to get a job.

History

Business Academy Aarhus was founded on 1 January 2009 and was the first School of Applied Sciences to be awarded positive accreditation in Denmark.

Education

  • In European countries, this is an English-language term for institutions of higher education. The degree programmes we offer focus on applied degrees.
  • Like research universities, we provide undergraduate programmes and can grant academic degrees, but we do not award masters or doctoral degrees.
  • In addition to this, we also offer further education and part-time programmes up to Bachelor’s level for people who need to strengthen their qualifications on the job.

Research

Developing and completing our programmes must create value for students and companies alike. Therefore, we focus on using our competencies in specific research and innovation projects in collaboration with partner companies.

Career

At our Career Centre, you’ll get inspiration and sparring when you need to clarify and actualise your internship, job and career plans. From the start to the finish of your programme, you are welcome to come to the Career Centre for either individual counselling or courses for groups of students.

You’ll get help with creating an overview of your internship and career opportunities as well as concrete tools to help you achieve your goals. They offer, among other things, courses in writing good applications and CVs – and will help you practice for internship and job interviews.

Student services

Most of the programmes at the Academy have their own Student Council. The Student Council allows you to have a say on your programme and organises social activities across classes. Each class elects two representatives to represent them in the Student Council. The Student Council works closely with the interdisciplinary Academy Council.

Housing services

Business Academy Aarhus is unfortunately not able to offer housing as we do not have any dormitories. However, you can apply for housing via Student Housing Aarhus, which administers residences for students across Aarhus.

Library services

The library is above the canteen area at Sønderhøj 30. The library offers a wide range of books, journals and magazines, papers and online subscriptions.  In addition to this, the librarians teach data collection and information searches which will be needed for your projects.

ICT services

When you start studying at the Academy, you will get a personal user name and password for – and a careful introduction to – all the Academy’s systems.

Before study start, new students must create a password and log on to our IT systems at home, before study start.

You can connect to the Academy’s wireless network in all our buildings.

Medical services

Everyone residing in Denmark has the right to public health insurance and hospital assistance.

Campus life

  • One of the world's smallest big cities - with everything a city needs.
  • There is always something to experience in Aarhus.
  • Live music festivals and events are organised throughout the year, a fascinating nightlife is available, beautiful beaches abound, amazing forests to explore, and warm cosy restaurants, cafes and pubs to go to when you feel hungry or simply just because you want to enjoy your café latte.

Student clubs

Most of the programmes at the Academy have their own Student Council. The Student Council allows you to have a say on your programme and organises social activities across classes. Each class elects two representatives to represent them in the Student Council. The Student Council works closely with the interdisciplinary Academy Council.

The Academy Council is the student's opportunity to have a direct say on their daily life as a student at Business Academy Aarhus.

Pros and Cons of Aarhus Business Academy

I am excited to learn the combination of understanding economics and people. I have attained skills and tools to work with an analytical mindset to define economic opportunities and I understand how to generate leads and talk with all kinds of customers. We have some teachers at the academy, that are unmotivated and doesn't work with business cases. They have too much monologue and too many PowerPoint presentations.
